As an artist, I’ve moved along a path from drawing and painting to digital prints and now video and Video installations. As an intermedia artist, I seek to explore the passageways we travel in life and I’m interested in trying to find the edge between meaning and the abstract. I see the world through the blend of art, politics, nature and science. Recently, I strive to emphasize the theme of art for social change.
Whenever I begin a video project, I am aware of how difficult it is to reconcile the world beyond the video with the self-conscious act of shooting, assembling the parts and editing it all into the final video. I begin shooting, unaware of its hidden intentions, its sudden turns and often vast unknown chambers. I am the visitor, stumbling into the presence, humbled by all that I do not know. I know that I am “discovering” what has been known to others, but never recorded.
My approach is interdisciplinary: sculpture, text, sound, images stirred into meaning. |
